Bike show was very good. I loved the fact that most of the manufacturers let you sit on the bikes and seemed a lot more helpful generally than if you go to a shop.

Honda Fury does look good Ed, don't think it comes in orange though. Took me about 35 minutes of slow drooling to walk back to my bike through the bike park, there were heaps of very nice ...

Hi there,

Have discovered this excellent site after a little searching. I have recently bought a very nice '96 VN800 off Ebay. This is my 12th bike (I also had over 100 cars so you can see I'm an old bugger) and I really like this one a lot.

It has a Mustang seat with a backrest and would have to be the only bike I've ever had that doesn't give me a sore bum after hours in the saddle. Magic!

The only thing I don't like is the Cobra exhaust...just too noisy, so I'm searching for an alternative ...

I'll do alittle bit of reading before I ask about saddle bags and what looks good for the money.

I'm looking forward to being an active member on the forum. This is great. Thank you to those who got it up and running.

Let's start a new game, that will encourage us to get out, see new places and do what we enjoy - taking pics of our bike.

The idea is to take a photo of your bike with a landmark (well known or not) as a background then post the picture in this thread.

Someone then needs to physically find your landmark, identify it and do the same ie take a similar photograph to prove their bike was there. They then take a photo of their own landmark at a different location and post it and so on, kinda ...

Ed posted this on NSWR and has mentioned it a couple of times as being a great ride with a lot of bikes.

Anyone interested in going along? Thought it might be good as a club ride sort of thing.

Ed I'm not sure what the procedure is and possibly at this late stage accommodation may be difficult.

If there is any interest in going as a group please let me know and will look into it further.

I would be keen and maybe even add an extra day either side depending on work.

Thanks to our good friend Rudy, an article featuring a ride we did earlier this year in which he tagged along, was included in the latest issue of Road Rider Cruiser & Trike. He was good enough to include our site name & address. Hopefully, we will get some 'traffic' from this feature which is even more reason this site needs to become more dynamic with more rides happening.

A link to the magazine can be seen below the pic.

Thanks Rudy. You are always welcome on our rides.

She was travelling to Carringbah to work and the driver 3 cars in front of her hit the brake suddenly and and made everyone hit each other's back. My friend was the last one.

The bike hit the boot and flipped, then the bike was almost on to of her. She was thrown to the boot of the car and she was in the hospital overnight.

Re the 880, check this review:

http://motorcycletirereviews.com/25-1-marathon880.html

I was looking at the Pirelli Night Dragons, a new tyre from Pirelli for cruisers, but I don't they have them for the VN yet. SCM suggested Bridgestone or to stick with the Dunlop. Still waiting to hear from them about Pirelli.

Not unhappy with the Dunlop, having got 12000 out of them, but nice to know other options. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum and there is heeps of great information on there. Bought my current Vulcan brand new in mid 2006 and it has 35,000 ks on it now.

The first 20,000 were put up in less than 12 months.

Got off a Honda VT 1300 - which weren't a bad bike either.

Had a heep of good expereinces with the Vulcan and some really terrible ones with it. Looking forwarding to replacing it (with another Vulcan) within the next 3 or 4 months - Early 2010 --

Hope to meet ...
